Is it patriarchy or about the haves or haves not?
Relationships are a trade - you have something your partner needs and they have something you need. Most women need financial security and most men need sex and companionship. This dynamic leads to each gender to value financial and sexual fidelity differently. Men are often criticized as being patriarchal when they express their value for sexual fidelity.
