Remote sensing of greenhouse gases is central to understanding climate change but as more and more geospatial data becomes available how do we effectively use emissions data to engage climate policymakers and governments? In this podcast, GHGSat CEO Stephane Germain had the pleasure to meet with Jack Dangermond, the President and Founder of Esri and Richard Cooke, Esri's Director of Remote Sensing at their California HQ, to discuss the geographic approach: the art and science of storytelling with geospatial data and the opportunity for the geospatial community to develop applications that give context and meaning to emissions data and enable climate action.

The Data Behind Climate Science
Introducing our new podcast 'shorts' where we speak with leading experts in their fields. As GHGSat signs a Third Party Mission initiative with the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency to share 5% of Iris' data with the scientific community, we talk to Claus Zehner, Mission Manager for the European Space Agency's atmospheric monitoring mission "Sentinel-5P", about why we need to track greenhouse gases from space, how small companies like GHGSat are working alongside large Government initiatives to share data, combine intelligence and create new applications to tackle climate change, and Claus shares some of the recent developments in the Sentinel-5P mission.

A Life Launching Rockets
Host Alexander Milas talks to GHGSat's Jean-Francois Gauthier about hunting greenhouse gas emissions, why a small spaceship called Iris means so much to them, and the impact of the pandemic. Also, we hear from Andrea Preve, Program Manager for the Vega’s VV16 mission, about life launching rockets from the equator and returning to work during a pandemic, and from Adina Gillespie, also from GHGSat, on the little-seen emotional side of the space business.
