Long Weekend (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079482/?_ssoLoop=1)? hey, you ain’t kidding! Welcome to episode 7 of your favorite depraved but sweet podcast GHOUL ROULETTE! On this episode we travel to the OZ of legend, that is the land down under, and talk about psychological environmental…thriller? yeah that works, Long Weekend!
This was a new watch for me and I had some thoughts for sure, but warning, this movie is not quite as soul crushing as our usual so apologies to the sickos among you. Still, good convo with a ton of other random talk as well.
I’ll be honest, I don’t wanna bog these notes down with too much more cause this post is running a little late but thanks for listening and please tell a friend. Cinepunx also has a discord server you can join and tell us what you love and what you hate about the show! Ok, well, have a chill week…OH WAIT, what movie are we doing next episode anyway? Oh no, don’t tell me it is Act of Vengeance (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072067/?ref_=fn_t_1) aka Rape Squad! It is? Shit.

Ghoul Roulette Episode 6: MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON
The wheel of pain has chosen a particularly light burden on this, the sixth episode of Ghoul Roulette. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15339456/) from 2021 is an almost unbearably cute and sentimental film, based on a series of youtube shorts. We are both kind of in the pocket for Jenny Slate and her ex who directs this movie seems ok I guess.
As with most of the supposedly life affirming movies I choose, this one does have a hint of sadness. Nothing too heavy but there is some loss in case you are a lame parent like me and looking for something to watch with your offspring. My daughter LOVED it, but I could see some soft kids getting bummed out. I don’t think we discussed anything I need to link you to but you can always hit us up on Instagram or join our discord server. Our next film, as chosen by fate. is the Ozploitation film Long Weekend, (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079482/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_long%20weekend) which I have never seen but I am told is “rough’. Ghoul Roulette Episode 5: THE PANIC IN NEEDLE PARK
Hey man, I’m not holding unless you are looking for another incredible episode of GHOUL ROULETTE! This week the wheel of pain has turned and landed us in 1971 New York, and it is dry out there y’all. It is The Panic in Needle Park (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067549/)featuring Al Pacino and Kitty Winn and of course a lot of really sketchy needle work.
Look, this is yet another grimy drug movie Evan is subjecting me to, but to be fair, this movie is really good. I mean, it is bleak and not for the faint of heart, but also really good. Next time we will be discussing Marcel The Shell with Shoes On (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15339456/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_6_nm_2_in_0_q_marcel%20the%20) so get in there and see it so you are ready! Also you can check the list here! (https://boxd.it/OPjr4) Please tell a friend and come back next time!
