030 - Owning Your Gifts: Self-Worth, Spirituality & Stepping Into Your Authority with Jen Thomas
What if the very beliefs making you question your worth are also preventing you from fully owning, and being rewarded for, the gifts you have to offer?
In Part Two of my conversation with Jen Thomas, we move beyond her career and business journey to explore some of the deeper patterns she discovered along the way.
Jen shares how imposter syndrome and an unconscious belief that she wasn’t good enough were showing up not as obvious insecurity, but as proving, fixing, doing more and overgiving - patterns she believes ultimately contributed to a second burnout.
That leads us into a fascinating conversation about money, receiving and why those of us working in coaching, wellbeing, healing and spiritual fields can find it particularly difficult to place financial value on what we do.
From there, we explore another thread that has been present throughout Jen’s life: her deep connection with nature and the spiritual experiences that eventually became central to both her life and work.
Jen shares her relationship with nature, the white lions, angels and Goddess Isis, and why her spiritual work is ultimately not about following someone else’s rules, but developing self-leadership and trusting your own experience.
In this episode, we explore:
* The difference between relying on learned skills and stepping into your natural strengths
* Imposter syndrome and the unconscious “I’m not good enough” belief
* How proving, fixing and overgiving can become expressions of low self-worth
* The relationship between deserving, receiving and money
* Why coaches, healers and wellbeing practitioners can struggle to charge for their work
* The conditioning that tells us spiritual work “should be free”
* Why receiving well can help change the pattern for those who follow us
* Nature as a source of healing, self-acceptance and unconditional love
* Jen’s experiences with intuition, angels, white lions and Goddess Isis
* Why true spiritual leadership is about empowering people rather than creating followers
* Self-leadership, uniqueness and giving ourselves permission to be who we really are
* The “golden threads” that weave through our lives and eventually bring us back to what is true for us
Ultimately, this is a conversation about recognising that our path doesn’t have to be linear. The experiences, interests and gifts that appear disconnected can turn out to be threads of the same story - leading us towards greater truth, alignment and self-leadership.
