Gary Faust gives em somethin to talk aabooout. Gary runs Faust Media, you'lll see him all over Austin recording comedians specials and podcasts. This is a big hang podcast as we were both delirious as it was summer in Texas and Gary's air conditioning was broken. We talk media, austin comedy, and existential crises.. and japanese strawberries for some reason.

Gina Got Friends #5 - John Poppie

John Poppie is a MMA fighter and chef that helps professional fighters go through weight cuts. John is based out of Las Vegas and was in NYC for Rolando Romero III aka "Rolly"'s fight at the Barclay Center on 5/28/2022. Gina and John sit down to talk about what goes into a weight cut, fighting, nutrition and then just go off the rails to talk about science and animals.

As you'll see at the beginning of this interview, John is very humble and reserved when it comes to his talents. He's a pro at what he does and his work with fighters and meal prep speaks for itself. You can follow him at @john_poppie and @prepandperform on instagram.

side note: I absolutely wanted to hit him as he has a very technical and skeptical way of speaking when you ask him about his profession. He's been a huge advocate of my comedy and loosened up as soon as I stop interviewing and just shoot the shit with him. This was such a learning moment for me as my previous episodes have been more interviews and have not highlighted my personality well. This man forced me to do what I'm better at and I can only thank him for that as it will help in future episodes. bastard.
