[…] The old gods were mostly implacable forces of madness, but we slowly started to learn about them, their motivations and relationships, especially N'Zoth, the scheming little brother. In many ways around the world of Azeroth, we saw the effects of the plots of Neltharion, Deathwing, But by the time we confront him, he's a crazed shell of his former self, hollowed out by the excesses of his own plans. They tried to build up Zaval, the jailer, as a mastermind, but he had no pathos. There was no way to connect to him and his story, which was revealed clumsily at the very last moment.
