In this episode of Give A Sit, Kyle opens up about growing up in a family business, the strain that can come with working alongside the people closest to you, and some of the difficult experiences that ultimately pushed him toward starting Revolution Machine Tools.
But this conversation goes far beyond business.
Kyle talks about the relationships that have shaped his life, why he never takes the people around him for granted, and how his perspective on success has changed over the years. After spending so much of his life focused on work and building businesses, he can now look back and admit that he wishes he had spent more time with his family.
Today, he is grateful for the opportunity to make up for some of that time, especially through the relationship he has with his daughter. Whether they are spending time together or simply going to the gym, those moments have taken on a much deeper meaning.

Phil Robinson’s story started with something simple: following up.As a self-described nerdy kid, Phil was competing with a friend for a job when his mom encouraged him to make the follow-up call. That small decision helped him land the opportunity and eventually sent him door to door fixing computers in people’s homes.When the owners of the business decided they no longer wanted to continue, Phil was given the chance to take it over. He renamed the company, grew it, and turned what started as a hands-on computer repair business into i.t.NOW.But growth came with lessons that went far beyond technology.Phil shares what it was like bringing his first wife into the business, the strain that working together created in their marriage, and what he would do differently today. He opens up about the importance of boundaries, communication, and making sure a business doesn’t become more important than the relationship behind it.Now remarried, Phil reflects on how those experiences have shaped the way he approaches marriage and family today. He and his wife are building a life together while blending children from previous relationships and intentionally applying the lessons they’ve both learned along the way.Phil also talks about one of the biggest decisions of his career: recently selling the company he spent decades building.
