[RECAST] Introspection In Games! (Plus: Christian Climbs Mt. Whitney!)

Hey Cubies! We are taking a quick one-week breather from the studio because Christian is currently off-grid, pushing his physical limits, and hiking up Mt. Whitney this week! Wish him luck (and hoping his real-life stamina meter is fully upgraded).

But don’t worry, we aren't leaving your feed empty. We are throwing it back to one of our absolute favorite, deepest discussions: Ep. 165: Introspection In Games!

In this classic episode, we dive deep into the art of game design to look at how storytellers use slower, quieter moments, emotional reflection, and isolation to make a game truly unforgettable. We break down the masterclasses of atmosphere found in games like Journey and Cyberpunk 2077 to figure out why hitting the brakes on action can sometimes deliver the biggest emotional punch. Whether you missed this one the first time around or just want to revisit the philosophy of game design, it's the perfect evergreen listen.

What’s coming next week:Make sure you are subscribed and ready, because when Christian gets back from the mountain, we are celebrating our massive 300th EPISODE! We have something special lined up for the big #300, and we can't wait to share it with you all.

Enjoy the rewind, have a great week, and we will see you next week for the big milestone!
