Why Creativity Feels so Risky and How to Overcome it
<p>In this episode, I talk with Mari Reisberg, LPC, therapist, performer, creativity coach and host of the Sustaining Creativity Podcast. She holds a BFA in Acting from the Hartt School and an MA in Somatic Counseling Psychology, Dance/Movement Therapy, from Naropa University. She currently splits time between the traditional 9-5 world as the director of utilization review and internship programming for a substance abuse treatment center, and her own Sustaining Creativity business where she works with performers and non-performers to spark, grow, sustain, share and transform creativity in their lives. <p>We were inspired by the quote,"We cannot force someone to hear a message they are not ready to receive, but we must never underestimate the power of planting a seed."</p> <p>Mom and I talk about the analogy of planting seeds as a symbol of new growth, new opportunities, and hope for a brighter future.</p> <p>"The more I understand, the more my world expands." Louise Hay</p> <p>These monthly chats with mom are a way for me to honor my mom and bring you her special wisdom while I can and to also recognize the power of women in our lives. Women supporting and inspiring other women is an important and needed part of life. Think of a woman who has been influential in your life. Take a moment to send her a message, light a candle, or pick up the phone and say hello to her today. Simple acts of kindness and recognition can make the difference in someones life, just like planting a tiny seed. You never know what an amazing and beautiful flower that little seed will grow into. </p>
