<p>Ministry of Sound celebrates its 35th anniversary as one of the world's most influential club brands and <strong>Lohan Presencer</strong> and <strong>Caitlin McAllister</strong> joined Alan and Clara to reflect on the club's journey from a disused bus garage inspired by New York's Paradise Garage to becoming a global dance music institution.</p><p>They discuss the founders' obsession with creating the ultimate sound system, the rise of the legendary Ministry of Sound compilation albums, and how the club helped launch countless DJs, producers and record labels. Lohan also reveals how Ministry developed 21 UK No.1 singles, signed artists including <strong>Example</strong>, <strong>DJ Fresh, Wretch 32</strong> and <strong>London Grammar</strong>, and built one of dance music's most successful record businesses.</p><p>The conversation explores the challenges facing modern club culture, from rising costs and property development to nurturing new talent and protecting London's nightlife. Ultra Naté - from Baltimore club kid to one of dance music's most iconic artists, songwriters and performers
<p>Ultra Naté joined us in Manchester at Hacienda Classical to share her incredible journey from Baltimore's late 80s club scene to becoming one of dance music's most iconic songwriters and voices.</p><p>She reflects on writing her first songs with The Basement Boys, recording two major-label albums and reconnecting with her underground club roots with the success of ‘Free’ and the subsequent album Situation: Critical on New York's legendary Strictly Rhythm label. Ultra also talks running her own club night Deep Sugar Rooftop Jam in Baltimore and the honour of being named the Alice and Franklin Cooley Composer in Residence at the Baltimore Museum of Art. DJ Hype - from reggae sound systems to drum & bass pioneer
<p>DJ Hype joined Alan and guest host Talina to reflect on his remarkable journey from the his involvement as a young teenager in reggae sound systems, through DJing at the UK's late-'80s rave events and pirate radio stations, to becoming one of the pioneering figures who helped shape jungle and drum & bass. He shares firsthand memories of the underground movement as it evolved into one of Britain's most influential electronic music genres.</p><p>From award-winning DJ and producer to the driving force behind the iconic Ganja and True Playaz labels, DJ Hype has spent more than three decades defining the sound of drum & bass.
