Adventure Capitalist: Finding Hidden Gems in Emerging Markets

Martin Josefsson, a global investor at London-based Elephant Asset Management, discusses how he finds investment opportunities in emerging markets from Indonesia to India and Kenya. Back in the Classroom: Student Q and A

A lively discussion of current topics in global financial markets, disruptive technology, and impact investing. In this episode, Prof. Maillet is joined by six fourth-year students at UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce and McIntire visiting lecturer Rick Carew. In the course of the question-and-answer session, Prof. Maillet provides historical context on the state of equity markets, as well as the potential impact of rising inflation on markets and the economy. Prof. Carew discusses the state of U.S.-China technology competition and how social media platforms are grappling with their growing importance in the public dialogue. The conversation concludes with a consideration of the role of the corporation and the interconnectedness of business and society.
