Jongeren in de politiek: staat ‘Europa’ dichterbij dan de gemeente?

De gemeenteraadsverkiezingen van 16 maart 2022 blonken niet uit in opkomst. Het opkomstpercentage was net iets boven de 42%, het laagste in jaren. Onder jongeren was de opkomst nog lager. Hoe kan dit? We praten jongeren in de politiek met jongeren uit de politiek, namelijk: Jens Bosman van DWARS (GroenLinks) en Tom Scheepstra van CDJA (CDA). Hoe ziet een dag bij zo’n politieke jongerenorganisatie eruit? Wat kunnen jongeren waarmaken in de politiek en wat vinden zij belangrijk? Veel jongeren zijn politiek actief; in actiegroepen en jongerenorganisaties richten zij zich vaak op grote wereldthema's als klimaatverandering en diversiteit. In de lokale politiek is vaak minder interesse. In deze aflevering praten we over de visie van jongeren op de verhouding tussen lokaal, nationaal en Europees niveau.
