"It's a surprise to people when I don't go at them. But I think if you want to learn about people, if you want to understand where they're coming from, you have to approach it with curiosity and you have to be willing to listen." - Noelle Cook, author, The Conspiracists
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 10, AWKWORD and Noelle Cook talk about the growth of disinformation, conspiracy theories and far-right extremism since January 6, 2021.

Melanie D'Arrigo
“It's really all about control. If we can make people afraid, it's easier to control us. It's easier to control us if we have the fear of going bankrupt, if we have the fear of going sick, it's easy to control us." - Melanie D'Arrigo, Executive Director of Campaign for New York Health
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 9, AWKWORD and Melanie D'Arrigo talk about fighting back against injustices in the healthcare system and workplace, personally, professionally and politically; the importance of science and health, particularly under a Trump administration; running for Congress as a leftist Democrat; and how social media, in spite of all its drawbacks, can serve as an optimal vehicle for organizing in the 21st century.

Amy Cooter
"It's really important to try to know which groups might be active in your area... Familiarize yourself with some of the taglines, some of the most common icons. And if you see something tagged around town, you at least know what's likely there. Be willing to stand up and support your neighbors who may be targeted before you are." - Amy Cooter, Co-founder and Deputy Directory, Institute for Countering Digital Extremism, on what we can do in our communities to counter the growth of far-right extremism
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 8, AWKWORD and Amy Cooter talk about the biggest threats to our democracy, online and off; accelerationism and its connection to domestic terrorism; the state of extremist groups and militias today; the difference between the far-right and far-left; and what we can do in our communities to fight back and maybe even flourish.

Hunter Dunn, 50501 Movement

And that spread rapidly." - Hunter Dunn, National Press Coordinator, 50501
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 7, AWKWORD and 50501's Hunter Dunn talk about the anti-Trump resistance movement, from No Kings protests and civil disobedience to strategic boycotts, strikes and mutual aid.

Laura Jedeed
"It's going to be a long fight, but the first part of it always is going to be finding your people and just getting a group together to do something... See if ICE is setting up anywhere, to distribute whistles so that people can alert people, to impede, throw sand in the gears, whatever one has to do. These things take time to ramp up, but unfortunately we're in it now and we have to start slowly." - Laura Jedeed, Banned In Your State', expert on military intelligence, conservatism, far-right movements, and the American apocalypse
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 5, AWKWORD and Laura Jedeed talk about combatting a coup; the pros and cons of the growing protest movement and the government response — and how it compares and contrasts with the Black Lives Matter movement; the rise of the far right since Charlottesville; the new fascist playbook; and how mainstream media and social media distort the truth and aid Trump in implementing Project 2025.

Pam Keith
"There are a lot of messages that came across election night... The pushback against Republican leadership, that's the thread that seems to be common to all of the victories from coast to coast, from north to south, be it federal, be it state, be it mayor's races, school board races, referendums, you name it, the voters came out and voted against the Republicans." - Pam Keith, who ran for federal office three times, campaigning as early as 2016 on democratic socialist tenets like Medicare For All
On GLOBAL WARNING, Episode 3, Pam Keith, a Black Florida-based civil rights attorney and employment justice firm executive director, takes us behind the scenes, discussing her runs for office, the most recent races, the state of the US Democratic Party as an opposition to the GOP and far-right agenda, her advice for future candidates and local activists, and much more.

Eric King
“You don't have to be everything to everyone, but you can give yourself and you should give what you can to your community because you would want that back to you. That's mutual aid. I share with you what I have. You share with me what you have, whether it's skills, resources, talents… As opposed to exploiting and commodifying each other.”
GLOBAL WARNING episode 2: Eric King, vegan, anarchist, anti-fascist activist and organizer who was incarcerated in a 6x9 cell in federal 'super max' for 10 years for throwing a Molotov cocktail at an EMPTY congressional building — on anti-fascist organizing, State terror, neoliberalism, and life behind bars.
