Go Dyslexia Episode 12: Creative Strategies to Help Dyslexic Students Love to Read with Sharon J. Bainbridge

I am thrilled to feature Sharon J. Bainbridge a dyslexia expert and advocate. Sharon is dyslexic, and when the school system didn’t teach her to read, she found her own way to master reading and writing. Later when her daughter, Melody, experienced similar learning challenges, Sharon knew she was dyslexic too and homeschooled her. Due to her creative and playful methods, Sharon was able to make reading fun and turned her daughter into a bookworm. Sharon is the author of the fairy book, Butterfly Lullaby and is an avid advocate of learning diversity for struggling learners.

Resources mentioned in the podcast:

Sharon created a blog to “help families turn their children into bookworms, the way I did with our Melody.” https://butterflylullaby.blogspot.com/2021/09/dyslexic-bookworm.html

Butterfly Lullaby YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9CCivPBHoxQGgADJUMVkCA

Singing stories video: https://youtu.be/hIDjs89yTpE

Boyzone's Shane Lynch discussing his dyslexia: https://youtu.be/yDK8sl7tT0A

See Sing Say: https://seesingsay.co.uk/

Let us know what you think and give us a review!!
