Five Caribbean Ports, One Changed Itinerary, and a Return to Puerto Rico
Christopher and Ashleigh explore five Caribbean cruise ports after an unexpected itinerary change replaces Dominica with La Romana.
They kayak through mangroves in St. Thomas, tour a sugarcane farm distillery in St. Croix, revisit St. Maarten, discover Antigua with an excellent private guide, and question whether La Romana’s isolated cruise complex offers a meaningful Dominican Republic experience.
After returning to Puerto Rico, a major water outage changes their plans again. They head to Luquillo, accidentally take a coffee plantation tour in Spanish, eat lechón in Guavate, rediscover the town’s growing food scene, and face a stressful Frontier Airlines journey home.
