NBA Season Predictions & the NBA’s Secret Contracts
The NBA season is almost here, and we have predictions! Will injuries shake up the standings? Will the NBA finally get tanking under control? Could the Celtics break a record, and will LeBron miss practice because of fog? We also break down Exhibit 10 contracts and how the NBA’s fringe players fight for a roster spot, celebrate Tyrese Haliburton’s return, and play a guessing game about an NBA figure who had a basketball-obsessed childhood. Plus, we answer questions about team chemistry, the importance of the preseason, and how many games Wemby will play. No gatekeeping—just NBA talk for everyone!

NBA Media Day, $200 Million Contracts & The Internet Never Forgets | Go Team Score Points
This week on Go Team Score Points, we dig into the weird, messy, and surprisingly human side of the NBA. We talk about Jalen Duren’s massive new contract and whether the Pistons can realistically keep three highly paid players together, plus the pressure players face when their performance and mental resilience are constantly under scrutiny.
Then we get into the Portland Trail Blazers’ controversial hiring of a new play-by-play announcer after old social media posts resurfaced—and ask the uncomfortable question: How much should we hold someone accountable for things they posted when they were 15?
Irish also introduces Sam to Nuggets newcomer Alpha Diallo, whose long road from Denver high school basketball to EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year makes him one of the most interesting players to watch this season.
And finally, it's NBA Media Day! We tackle five questions about why teams do it, whether players actually enjoy it, Dylan Harper’s comments about coming off the bench, Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers questions, and why Nikola Jokić not signing a contract extension yet probably isn't the drama everyone thinks it is.
Plus: Quentin Grimes accidentally walks into J.J. Redick’s neighbor’s house, Giannis is terrorized by Miami iguanas, and we learn that sometimes the best NBA stories have very little to do with basketball.

The NBA Has Some REALLY Weird Rules
Why is punching the basketball illegal? What happens if an entire NBA team fouls out? And why does the NBA have a “disaster draft” for catastrophic situations? This week on Go Team Score Points, we dig into some of the strangest rules hiding in the NBA rulebook — including mandatory timeouts, accidental baskets, shot-clock chaos, coach restrictions, and a rule that lets a fouled-out player come back into the game under very specific circumstances.
We also go back to the early days of basketball and explore how the game was adapted for women, from three-zone basketball and limited dribbling to the eventual arrival of five-on-five play and the WNBA.
Plus: Jalen Duren’s contract situation, Steph Curry’s future, the invention of the backboard (spoiler: fans were cheating), and why the shot-clock operator has a surprisingly stressful job.
No gatekeeping. Just basketball, weird rules, and learning as we go.
