I collect first-hand paranormal encounters that I find and present them with genuine interest, casual analysis, and correlating folklore. My intention is to curate tales that highlight the aspect of human experience that I find most interesting–the otherworldly and unexplainable. For as long as there have been humans, there have been fairies, ghosts, strange animals, supernatural abilities, and stories about them.
The classic setting in which these tales are told are by the fire. Consider this your digital hearth-side. Pull up a chair, and listen to stories best told by candlelight.

#104 ✶ Monsters under the bed… skeletons, goblins, and long, stretching arms
In this episode I’m exploring a common childhood fear–monsters under the bed–except these encounters really happened. I found over a dozen examples of people swearing up and down that when they were a child something came out from under their bed. The stories I’m reading come from Reddit and the Forteana Forums and describe skeletons, goblins, and hands reaching up at them as they tried to sleep. I find this subject absolutely fascinating, and it plays into one of my supernatural obsessions.

#103 ✶ Goblins with capes and men without skin
Tonight I am reading eight stories of strange supernatural encounters sourced from the Fairy Census, Reddit, and the USC Folklore Archives. These accounts feature some of my favorite topics, themes, and motifs in paranormal experiences, so I’m considering this a Goblin Kwain sampler/starter pack.
Included are disembodied hands, green ladies, goblins/leprecauns, bizarre childhood experiences and beings seen while driving. There are some really weird and wonderful stories in this episode; and just to be clear, even though this is a sampler of my favorite topics, I have not read these stories previously!

#102 ✶ Parades of tiny people, pukwudgies, and many multicultural fairy experiences
In this episode I will be reading a handful of experiences with fairies across a variety of cultures. The main sources are the Fairy Census and Reddit, but I consult a few others for additional experiences and information about specific cultural beings.
There are the dangerous fairy winds of Ireland, leprechauns on the loose in Pennsylvania, the waterfall dwelling chaneques of Mexico, and many first-hand encounters.
