Two Breads and Two Messages

The Bible presents two very different breads with two very different messages. Ezekiel’s bread was a symbol of judgment, scarcity, and the consequences of ignoring God. It represented a people who had rejected God's warnings and would learn dependence through hardship. The unleavened bread of Passover, however, symbolized deliverance, obedience, and God's saving power. Though both breads were simple and lacked luxury, one pointed toward captivity while the other pointed toward freedom. The difference was not in the ingredients but in the hearts of the people eating them. America has experienced both kinds of bread throughout its history—times of sacrifice, gratitude, and dependence upon God, as well as seasons of complacency and spiritual drift. The challenge for every generation is to remember God's deliverance before discipline becomes necessary. Obedience leads to freedom; rebellion leads to correction.

The Finger of God

This Minute Man Message highlights James Madison’s statement in Federalist #37, recognizing the providential hand of God in America’s founding. The message reminds listeners that many founders believed divine guidance preserved the nation through the Revolution and calls modern Americans to humility, gratitude, and renewed dependence upon God.

The Price Tag of Character

Character has a price tag, and that price is often hardship. Just as steel is strengthened by fire and the hammer, people are strengthened through trials, discipline, and perseverance. America’s founders understood that liberty was not secured through comfort but through sacrifice and moral courage. Valley Forge became a forge of character long before it became a victory in history. Scripture teaches the same principle: suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. God often uses difficulty not to destroy us but to shape us. The choice before every generation is whether to pursue comfort or embrace the process that develops conviction, resilience, and strength. Freedom, faith, and character all require people willing to endure pressure rather than escape it.
