Episode 47 - Andhaka, The Blind Demon Who Saw Light
Andhaka was born in the cosmic darkness when Parvati accidentally covered Shiva's eyes with her hands. Yes, he was a child of Shiva and Parvati. Since he was born in the dark, he was born blind.
Adopted by an Asura king, Andhka grew up rejected and ridiculed by everyone due to his blindness. But he was determined to overcome his handicap through hard work. His sight was restored by Brahma and a wish that he could only be defeated by his father. He was confident that his loving father would never harm him.
His confidence that he could not be defeated by anyone made him arrogant and a tyrant, harming the three worlds.
Finally he confronted Shiva himself, not knowing the Great Destroyer himself was his father.
Will Andhaka finally see the light, realise that his cruelty comes from a place of darkness?
Listen to this amazing, moving story about a rejected child, who became evil, only to see the light eventually.
