Oorlog in Oekraïne: 1 jaar later
<p>Het is vandaag exact één jaar geleden dat Rusland de grenzen van Oekraïne overstak en sindsdien het land en de Westerse democratie in een wurggreep houdt.</p> <p>N-VA senator Mark Demesmaeker staat sinds 2015 op Poetins zwarte lijst vanwege zijn steun aan de rol van Oekraïne in de oorlog in de Donbass. Later dat jaar werd hij onderscheiden met de Order of Merit, III Class door de toenmalige president van Oekraïne, Petro Poroshenko. </p> <p>Sinds de Russische inval in Oekraïne heeft Demesmaeker het land meerdere keren bezocht en staat hij in nauw contact met de Oekraïense bevolking. Als ooggetuige heeft hij de gruwel van vernietiging en buiten proportioneel geweld kunnen aanschouwen. Samen met nationaal voorzitter van Jong N-VA Jeroen Bergers doet hij zijn verhaal en blikt hij vooruit. </p>
