<p>Katie AKA "Runner_Girl81" has been a Registered Nurse for 21 years and counting! She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology and in Nursing. Her first nursing job was on a Medical Telemetry floor for around 16 months. She moved back home and worked at her local hospital for 12.5 years on a StepDown unit, before transferring to our Same Day Surgery/Endoscopy unit, where she's worked since 2017. </p><p>She have been married to her husband, since 2005 and they have three children. Being a mother is the absolute highlight of her life and her children are her world. </p><p>Katie began running in the 5th grade when she joined their Elementary track team. She played Volleyball and Basketball as well, but continued running as her favorite form of fitness throughout her life. She has ran 6 Half Marathon races, but remains content running on her treadmill these days. </p><p>She believes in kindness, inclusiveness and positivity, as well, as practicing gratitude as a way of daily life.
