Good Listeners Ep 11 - Interview w/ Feelmonger + The Gang Discusses Inflatable Couches

On Episode 011 of the Good Listeners podcast presented by Heard It Here First, we've got one of our favorite rising star producers in the interview booth! [0:00:15] Feelmonger is a breakout up-and-comer who you must have your eyes on. He blends dubstep, freeform bass and trap to create a powerful sound that rocks sound systems everywhere he plays. He's been releasing some amazing music over the last year, most notably his recent Viva La Vibrant! EP. [0:03:08] In the interview, he talks about what it's like juggling his full-time dentistry job with music production and cranking out massive, festival-ready bangers. He spent some time in the Army as a dentist and shares his unique story on how he started diving into bass music while he was stationed in various locations around the world. He also shares some fun stories from festival season and what's next for the Feelmonger project. [0:56:44] On the post-interview roundabout, Jimmy, Dan and Meg talk about the drama surrounding inflatable couches at festivals and what should be considered best practice. They share stories of their own experiences seeing inflatable couches in the crowd as well as examples of the random of acts of kindness they've received from friendly festival goers. Thank you so much for tuning in and being a Good Listener! If you haven't already, throw us a follow on Instagram and Twitter.

Good Listeners Ep 10 - Interview w/ LUZCID + The Gang Recaps Both Skrillex Albums

In episode 010 of the Good Listeners podcast, the gang is thrilled to welcome Wakaan artist LUZCID to the show [0:4:50]. For the last decade, LUZCID has provided fans with music that can be described as a sonic odyssey. Though firmly grounded in the bass music world, LUZCID meticulously eludes genres to push his boundaries and welcome a wide variety of enthusiasts to his ever-growing community.

The Good Listeners team was fortunate to catch him right before he embarked on his most extensive national tour, the Illusions Tour. In the interview, we dive deep into what went into this tour, which included working with visual artist/VJ Data Byte on the Audio/Visual component. A big part of this tour also revolved around the contest that LUZCID ran, in which he hand-picked direct support slots for each tour stop around the country, many of which have been covered on Heard It Here First! It was so cool to hear his passion for spotlighting lesser-known artists and giving them the opportunity to show off their craft.

Knowing how diverse his release catalog is, the team also picked his brain on how he approaches different styles of music. Whether it be the more brutal freeform/dubstep anthems that we know and love or the more healing, heart-warming downtempo tracks, LUZCID's approach to these styles constantly change. This leads into some of LUZCID's favorite war stories from touring and a conversation around smaller-scale festivals. A massive shoutout to Dan and Noah for crushing this interview - we learned so much on this episode!

To close out episode 010, the gang recaps Skrillex's wild releases [1:01:21]. He played pop-up shows with Four Tet and Fred Again.. all over NYC, including smack dab in the middle of Times Square and a massive 5-hour b2b at Madison Square Garden. While all of this was happening, he dropped not one but TWO(2) albums in 24-48 hours. The gang recaps some of their favorite songs from "Quest For Fire" and "Don't Get Too Close".

Thank you all so much for listening over the last several months. We would not have made it to 10 episodes without your support. We've had some fantastic conversations and cannot wait to share what we have in store for the rest of the year. If you're not following us yet, check us out on Twitter and Instagram.
