[…] And so right off the bat, I started to have this kind of sinking feeling in my gut that something wasn't adding up right. And as we continue to move through the process of getting ready for invasion, invasion, and then what happened post-invasion, as we rolled through the country, it was very evident that this was not a place that had weapons depots or weapons of mass destruction or chemical weapons manufacturing equipment. It was a very poor country of people living mostly on a dollar a day. And yes, the locals did agree that Saddam was a bad man and then he could be removed, but it wasn't going to change anything about the country because it was largely broken up into different sections by religious organizations and different sects.
