An American Patriot serving God and living fit and healthy in my 60's with my amazing wife, our small children, and a todo list that thinks I'm in my 20's. I've covered a lot of ground, learned a thing or two and have some interesting friends that have learned even more. We are here to talk about it, tell some good stories, and have a few laughs. We would love for you to join us.
Sixth Degree Black Belt, Master Renato Tavares has amassed 9 world championships and 14 Pan Am championships among countless others throughout his over half a century of competing and perfecting his sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
But his greatest success is measured by the lives he has shaped in the process of learning their sport. Our four children train under him and the impact he and his coaches have made in their lives and in support of how we raise our kids has been remarkable.
In this interview he talks about his sport, the hard times and good times, his vision for the future, all in service to God.

Why Do Churches Need Armed Safety Teams?
The world is changing rapidly and violence directed at churches, church leaders and congregations has increased over ten times what it was five years ago. Statistically, churches that are protected by visible armed security are far less likely to experience violence compared to those that are not.
While we all wish we could go back to a time when armed protection in church was not a necessity, and I would argue that most safety team members want that more than anyone; we must acknowledge the reality of where our society is at and take prudent precautions.
Ana joins me in this episode of the podcast to switch roles and interview me about my role as a church safety team member and team leader.

Saving Your Own Life
This show is about men. Men that provide for their families, men that protect others, men that step up and take on the jobs that require far more than showing up and punching the clock. Guys that push themselves well beyond their limits because the situation requires it.
Shawn is in his late 50's and I am in my mid 60's and for most of our lives we have been invincible, but both of us reached a point where our bodies were unable to keep up with the pace our hearts and minds like to move at.
Shawn and I discuss the process of getting healthy again, and how food plays a huge role in making that change.
