Jacob is 130 years old, and he's about to leave the land God promised him. In Genesis 46, he stops at Beersheba to offer sacrifices, and God meets him there in a night vision with a promise that settles the question: "I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will surely bring you up again." Before Jacob takes a single step toward Egypt, he hears that God is already going with him.
Then, in Genesis 47, Jacob stands before the most powerful man in the world, and Pharaoh asks a simple question: "How old are you?" Jacob's answer is surprisingly bleak. His years have been "few and evil," and they haven't measured up to the years of his fathers. After a life of wrestling, deceiving, fleeing, grieving, and waiting, this is how he sums it up.
So how do we hold these two scenes together? Can a man have the unfailing presence of God and still look back on his life with weariness and disappointment? In this episode, we walk through Jacob's journey from Beersheba to the palace and see that God's promise to be with His people doesn't depend on how well we read our own story. Jacob's honest assessment of his life isn't the final word on it. God's faithfulness is. Even in Jacob's weariest moment, he still pronounces a blessing on Pharaoh, a reminder that he understood something about God's purposes that his own summary overlooked.
If you've ever looked at your life and wondered whether it added up to what you hoped, this passage is for you.

Genesis 45 - 09/27/2026
Joseph finally reveals himself to his brothers, and instead of focusing on their betrayal, he sees God’s hand in everything that has happened. What his brothers meant for evil, God used to preserve life and bring Joseph exactly where he needed to be.
We also see a remarkable reversal from Genesis 37. Jacob once believed Joseph was dead and refused to be comforted. Now, after hearing that Joseph is alive, Jacob is revived and begins the journey to see his son. The story that began with Jacob grieving a supposedly dead son now turns into a story of restoration, reunion, and life.
Genesis 45 invites us to look back at Joseph’s suffering through the lens of God’s providence—and to see how God can bring redemption out of circumstances that seem completely broken.

Genesis 43 & 44 - 09/20/2026
Judah was not the same man he was years earlier when he helped sell his brother Joseph into slavery. In Genesis 43–44, we begin to see just how dramatically God has been changing him.
As Joseph tests his brothers, Judah steps forward and takes responsibility—not only for Benjamin, but for his father Jacob. The man who once sacrificed his brother for his own gain is now willing to sacrifice himself for his brother’s sake.
In this message, we look at Judah’s transformation and what it teaches us about repentance, responsibility, sacrifice, and the work God does in a person's heart over time.
