Fasting, Prayer, & the Faithfulness of God - Ezra 8:21-23

What does it mean to trust God when the outcome is uncertain? In **Ezra 8:21–23**, Ezra calls God's people to fast and seek the Lord, trusting Him to provide protection and guidance. In this sermon, **“Fasting, Prayer, & the Faithfulness of God,”** we examine what this passage teaches us about dependence upon God, the purpose of fasting, the power of prayer, and the faithfulness of the Lord toward His people.Ezra and the Israelites were facing a journey that required them to depend upon God rather than their own strength or resources. Their response was to humble themselves, fast, and seek the Lord. Their example reminds us that prayer is not merely a religious exercise—it is an expression of genuine dependence upon a faithful God.📖 **In this sermon, we consider:**• The biblical purpose of fasting• Why God's people should seek Him in prayer• Trusting God when circumstances are uncertain• Humility and dependence upon the Lord• God's faithfulness to His covenant people• The relationship between prayer and faith• What Ezra 8:21–23 teaches us about trusting God• How Christians can cultivate greater dependence upon the LordIf you are studying **Ezra 8**, or looking for biblical teaching on **fasting, prayer, trusting God, God's faithfulness, Christian dependence, biblical spirituality, faith, and Reformed theology**, we pray this sermon will encourage you to seek the Lord and trust Him in every circumstance.**When we cannot see what lies ahead, we can still trust the God who does.**Like this video, **subscribe to the channel, and share it with others** who would benefit from hearing God's Word preached.🌐 **Learn more about Grace Covenant Reformed Church:****[www.clovisreformed.com](http://www.clovisreformed.com)**Grace Covenant Reformed ChurchClovis, New Mexico#Ezra8 #FastingAndPrayer #Prayer #FaithfulnessOfGod #TrustGod #ChristianFaith #BiblicalPreaching #ReformedTheology #Fasting #PrayerLife

Apostasy and Amazing Grace - Judges 3:7-11

Israel forgot the Lord, served Baals and Asheroth, and fell under oppression. Then God raised a deliverer. Judges 3:7–11 begins the cycle that runs through the book: apostasy, judgment, crying out, and amazing grace. The first judge, Othniel, shows that the true Hero is the Lord Himself. Idolatry is not only bowing to another god—it is putting anything above God. This message traces that pattern and points to the grace that still rescues His people.Want clear Reformed preaching through Judges and the rest of Scripture?
