Can you really trust God's promises, given that there are many who have rejected him? This is a question that first century jews would have asked, especially since so many jews didn't believe in Jesus. In Romans 9, Paul responds by affirming that Jesus really is faithful. This is a challenging text but the assurance that God can be trusted is clear.

In Romans 9-11, Paul answers the question - if God's promises don't fail, then why have so many of the Jews rejected Jesus? Paul will answer this question but first reveals his great sorrow at many of his fellow Jews getting Jesus wrong.
