From Serving to Calling (Grow in the Lord - Part 3)
From Serving to Calling (Grow in the Lord - Part 3)
What does serving God look like when you don’t yet know where He’s leading you?
In part one of a two part conversation, Pastors Brian and Jonathan share their own stories of salvation, discipleship, serving, and calling to ministry. As they look back, they talk about the ordinary opportunities, relationships, passions, and even things that seemed like coincidences that God used to write their stories.
In Part 1, we focus on their salvation stories, the people who discipled them, and some of the seemingly small moments that became pivotal in their journeys. Neither of them could see where those first steps would eventually lead.
As we seek to make disciples who know, grow, and go, we want to be faithful with whatever God puts in front of us, even when we can't see what comes next.

Serving With Purpose (Grow in the Lord - Part 2)
How do we discover where God wants us to serve?
In this episode of Grace Talk, we continue our conversation about growing in the Lord by talking about how God has gifted and equipped each of us to serve Him and His people. We look at three things that can help us discover our place: our gifts, our passions, and our story.
We also talk about what to do when you're not sure what God has called you to do. As we seek to make disciples who know, grow, and go, we want to faithfully use what God has given us to serve Him and build up His church.

The Heart of Serving (Grow in the Lord - Part 1)
The Heart of Service
What does it really mean to serve the Lord?
In this episode of Grace Talk, we shift our focus to what it means to grow as disciples of Christ. We talk about why serving others is an important part of spiritual growth and why biblical service is about much more than simply doing a task. We also look at the heart behind our service and consider some of the motivations God gives us in serving.
As we seek to make disciples who know, grow, and go, we want to be people who don't simply serve, but who serve the Lord with the right heart and motivation.

The Heart of Prayer (Spiritual Disciplines – Part 3)
We're continuing our focus on prayer from our last episode, The Discipline of Dependence, by answering some questions we've received from listeners. In this episode, we'll talk about silent prayer, praying persistently, approaching God with both intimacy and reverence, and submitting our desires to His will.
These questions give us an opportunity to look at what Scripture says about the heart of prayer, approaching God with both intimacy and reverence, continuing to pray without losing heart, and bringing our requests to Him while trusting His wisdom and His will.As we seek to make disciples who know, grow, and go, prayer is an essential part of growing in our relationship with the Lord.

Not Optional
Jesus has called every believer to be a disciple who makes disciples. It's not optional. But many believers do not take up this command from Jesus and, for many of them, it's simply because they do not know how to start. In this episode, Brian and Jonathan talk through the what, why, and how of discipleship. They provide very practical help from their own disciple-making to help you move from disobedience to faithful and fruitful obedience.

Bonus: Some clarification on "Exercising Proper Judgment" sermon
Our first bonus episode! Pastor Brian wanted to clarify something from the June 14 sermon that wasn't really explained in the sermon. So we connected the mics and recorded a bonus episode! It also provided an opportunity to address a question that was asked following the service. If you haven't listened to the sermon yet, do that first! Then listen to this episode for some added clarity. Our next regularly scheduled podcast will drop on Wednesday, June 24. We hope this bonus episode helps clarify this part of the sermon.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email them to podcast@gracemh.com (mailto:podcast@gracemh.com) and Brian and Jonathan could answer them in future episodes.
