27: Property, Imposter Syndrome and Reflections with Tim Hyatt

In this episode, we had the joy of being joined, back in January of this year, by Tim Hyatt, the Head of UK Residential at Knight Frank. Unlike the vast majority of our guests, Tim didn’t actually go to university but offers such a fresh perspective on the arguments both for and against a uni education. He discusses why he sometimes regrets not studying for a degree, instead going straight into full-time work after leaving school, but also why he thinks he wouldn’t be where he is today if he’d followed the more traditional route. We left our conversation with Tim feeling utterly inspired and almost overwhelmed by his honesty and vulnerability. This episode is a special one and we hope you love it as much as we did.

*

Grad Life by the Horns is a podcast covering every element of graduate life. 26: Investing, Skincare and Affirmations with Raheem Mirza and Akhil Shah

We are back! After a long break, we are delighted to open up Season 4 with both new and returning voices, Raheem Mirza and Akhil Shah. This week, you're in for a whole lot-a graduate gold. These wonderful guests take us through the practical must-dos of starting a business, eye opening discussions around men's skincare and mental health, as well as incredibly handy insights into the world of investment. These two really know a thing-or-two when it comes to Grad-ding Life by the Horns.

*

Having both landed esteemed roles as Rotational Graduates at St James' Place and since progressing into careers surrounding Responsible Investment and Corporate Finance Analytics, Akhil and Raheem ooze knowledge, mentorship capacity and brilliance in financial wellbeing. Alongside the busy corporate lifestyle, Raheem founded Ra. Skincare in 2020 after studying Medical Science and experiencing the stresses of city life, and was shortly joined by Akhil, who shared many frustrations regarding the complexities of skin brands for men. Together, they are advocates for breaking down the stigmas of men's skincare and beautifully draw the parallels with men's mental health, driven by their collective goal - "helping one million men face the day". Becoming a household name, Ra. Skincare has featured in GQ magazine and continues to produce simple, naturally wonderful and vegan products. Check out their website ra-skincare.com and join the movement #FaceTheDay by finding the 'perfect balance between convenience, effectiveness and indulgence'.

*

Grad Life by the Horns is a podcast covering every element of graduate life.
