Why does food NOT taste the way it did when we were kids? 🤔
Episode 135 of Great Apes Cafe starts with everybody getting on Timothy about punctuality again 😂 before the conversation turns into dirty truck drivers, industrial-sized soap, family members who only call when they need something, fake support, food ingredients, childhood punishments, parenting, skilled trades, and whether the food we grew up eating has completely changed.
One of the biggest conversations this episode is simple:
THE PHONE WORKS BOTH WAYS.
You can’t disappear for months, never check on somebody, then suddenly pop up asking to borrow money—especially when you still owe them from last time. 😂 The crew gets into family members watching everything you post online but never actually calling, texting, commenting, or checking on you.

Everybody Was LATE… Then the Podcast Went Completely Off the Rails | Great Apes Cafe Ep. 134
We tried to start this episode at 2 PM. We actually started around 7. So naturally, accountability became the first topic. 😂
Episode 134 of Great Apes Cafe kicks off with the crew checking each other over being late, bad communication, excuses, time management and why friends should be able to hold each other accountable without everything turning personal. Dre Aries is back with the crew, and it doesn’t take long before the conversation goes completely off the rails. episode 134
From there, the conversation moves into mental capacity, patience, dating someone with children, relationship boundaries, communicating intentions and why being brutally honest can save everybody a lot of confusion.
The crew also discusses President Donald Trump’s recent proposal to give every adult U.S. citizen a $5,000 payment if Republicans win both chambers of Congress. The White House publicly announced the proposal in September 2026; independent fact-checkers noted that its estimated cost would be roughly $1.2 trillion and that significant questions remain about funding and implementation.
