Liverpool Let Football Down! Man City Controversy & Chelsea Hit Five | Premier League Week 6
Liverpool had the chance to make a statement against Manchester City. Instead, they lost 3–0 at Anfield — and according to Freddy, they let the whole of football down.
This week, James is joined by Abs, Freddy and GFP newcomer Chin at The Crown in Greenwich.
Chelsea hit five past Bournemouth, Arsenal fight back against Leeds, and Manchester United and Tottenham share the points in a game overshadowed by Bentancur’s red card.
But the biggest talking point is Manchester City. With controversy surrounding the club off the pitch, the panel debate Liverpool’s disappointing performance, the refereeing decisions and whether City’s success can still be celebrated.
Elsewhere, we discuss Messi’s international legacy, the Messi vs Maradona debate, Manuel Neuer’s Bundesliga blunder and September’s Goal of the Month.
Plus, Freddy launches into a spectacular anti-Spurs rant as the panel predicts the best, worst and biggest games of the coming weekend.
Recorded at The Crown, Greenwich.

City conceded three at home and still won 5–3.
And England are already arguing about who should lead the line.
EP17 gets into Brighton’s 3–0 win over Arsenal, Brobbey’s hat-trick against City, more problems for Spurs and Chelsea, Manchester United at Fulham and Liverpool grinding out another win.
Then it’s England: what actually needs changing after the World Cup, who should get a proper chance and, if not Calvert-Lewin, who are you taking?
🎙️Tan is joined by Chris, Abs and James. Recorded at The Vanbrugh, Greenwich.

City Win With 10, VAR On Trial & Football’s Greatest Goalthreat Defender Crowned | Premier League Week 4
Manchester City beat Manchester United 1–0 despite playing with ten men from the 23rd minute. Thom, Tan, Chris and Jordan look at why United never really took control, how City handled the red card and the disputed Haaland goal that rolls straight into a much bigger question: has VAR actually made football better?
There’s also Spurs going four league games without scoring, Liverpool drawing again, Hull continuing their unbeaten start at Chelsea, Arsenal’s tougher-than-it-looked win at Sunderland and Brighton putting five past Coventry.
Then it’s Last Defender Standing. Fifteen of football’s biggest goalscoring defenders go head-to-head, with goals, variety, big moments and general defender chaos all counting.
Plus the games ahead and Pauline’s Punt.

Chelsea Get Off Lightly. Arsenal, Internet Takes & The Manchester Derby | The Premier League Week 3
Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1, but it could quite easily have been three or four.
Thom, Grant, Tan and James look at Arsenal taking control after going behind, the Gabriel incident, the chances they wasted, Chelsea staying alive far longer than they probably deserved to and whether they are still missing an out-and-out No.9.
Premier League week three also brings Liverpool looking increasingly settled, Spurs still searching for their first league goal, Manchester United throwing away two leads and Manchester City grinding out another win.
The table also tackles some unpopular Premier League opinions, including Haaland, Özil, Rooney, Terry v Ferdinand, Lampard v Gerrard and Saka v Hazard.
Plus a quick Champions League look, the Manchester derby and the games ahead.
Recorded at The Royal Standard, Greenwich.

Arteta Better Than Klopp? City Scrape Through & Same Old Tottenham? | Premier League Returns
Manchester United lose to Hull, Brentford expose Tottenham, Manchester City scrape through against Bournemouth and Arsenal start strongly against Coventry.
Thom, Tan, Jordan and Dennis discuss the Premier League’s opening weekend, Liverpool’s defensive concerns against Newcastle and whether Isak and Wirtz really fit the system.
Arteta’s 150th Premier League win also produces the biggest argument of the episode: Arteta or Klopp? And how does his achievement compare with Guardiola, Mourinho and Ferguson?
Plus Liverpool’s 2019/20 champions against the current Arsenal side, Kevin Keegan, South East London and a look ahead to week two.
Recorded at The Ship, Greenwich.

Arsenal Make A Statement. Community Shield & Season Predictions | EP12 Greenwich Football Pubcast
The Premier League is finally back, so it’s time to put the predictions on record.
Thom is joined by James, Grant, Jordan and Chris at the Oyster Catcher in Greenwich, starting with Arsenal’s 3–0 Community Shield win over Manchester City. Arsenal looked ready for the season; City looked anything but. Was it simply a difference in preparation, or were there signs of a much bigger problem?
There’s also PSG’s 2–1 Super Cup win over Aston Villa, and whether an impressive Villa performance should actually change expectations for them heading into the league campaign.
Then comes the dangerous bit: the **GFP Premier League prediction table**.
Everyone submitted their own 1–20 before recording, so we work through the league club by club, compare the biggest disagreements and settle on the table we’ll be dragging back out at the end of the season. No retrospective editing permitted.
We also make our calls for Manager of the Season, Player of the Season, breakthrough player, biggest flop, surprise package and Golden Boot, before finishing with the opening weekend and the games we think could immediately make some of these predictions look stupid.
Recorded at the **Oyster Catcher, Greenwich**, with the river outside and several increasingly questionable league tables inside.

EP: 11 | Who Won the Transfer Window & Arsenal v Man City
Do Arsenal still need a striker? Have Manchester City refreshed their squad or ripped it up? Are Chelsea building depth or just hoarding players? And can Liverpool really replace Salah?
Thom, Jordan, Tan and James go through the Premier League’s summer transfer business, including Spurs’ huge midfield spend, Manchester United’s latest reset and which clubs have actually improved rather than simply spent money.
They also look at the Premier League’s new managers and ask who has inherited the hardest job, before turning to Arsenal v Manchester City in the Community Shield and what the first competitive game of the season might actually tell us.
Recorded at the Greenwich Tavern beside Greenwich Park.
