He emphasizes the power of a simple smile in preventing suicide. 14 years ago, he personally survived a suicide attempt by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge when he was a distraught 19-year-old college student with bipolar issues. He talks about his desperate hope that someone would ask him what was wrong and stop him, but no one did, leading to his jump.</span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"><span style="color:#000000">He shared a story about someone who had taken their own life by jumping off a bridge. They had left behind a note saying If just one person smiles at them, they won&rsquo;t jump. &ldquo;That man is dead,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;</span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"><span style="color:#000000">Their decision could have been prevented if just one person had shown them a smile that day.</span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"><span style="color:#000000">He encouraged the audience to take action if they encounter someone who appears visibly distressed, even if they are a stranger. Ask them, &ldquo;Hey, are you OK?
