This week we travel to one of the most haunted cities in America to visit a place filled with everything from pirate lore to "America's first female serial killer". You guessed it- we're in Charleston, SC baby! Built in 1802, The Old City Jail is commonly referred to as the most haunted building in Charleston and isn't lacking in the history department. For 137 years this placed housed an array of "criminals" who were subjected to some of the harshest conditions imaginable... think overcrowding, disease, and don't get us started on the humidity or palmetto bugs! Whether it was due to sickness from these harsh conditions or an appointment with the gallows out back, many prisoners met their fate in these walls leaving us with the legends and haunts we have today.

Ep 6: The Max Headroom Incidents
We're taking it back to 1987 to cover one of the most bizarre unsolved mysteries of the 80s... the infamous Max Headroom Incidents. If you lived thru any part of the 1980s- or even if you didn't- you've probably heard of the iconic Max Headroom. He was a "computer generated" sci-fi superstar, spokesperson for Coke, and icon of the decade. However, in 1987 hackers intercepted the signal of two different Chicago tv stations, broadcasting instead a mystery person in a Max Headroom mask and suit. The first incident, which only lasted around 30 seconds, interrupted WGN's Sunday night sports recap of a recent Chicago Bears game and had no audio, just the loud buzzing of perhaps a misconnected cable. However, the second hijacking occurred two hours later on PBS in the middle of a Doctor Who episode and was considerably longer and somehow, even more bizarre. This time the audio was working and whoever was behind the mask was behaving erratically and making bizarre references, leaving viewers confused and the television crews scrambling.
Was this a disgruntled former employee, some local teenagers playing a prank, or something darker? At the end of the day we may never know the truth of who was behind of the greatest mysteries of the 80s, but perhaps thats all part of the mystique.

Ep 4: Dr. Herbert Hopkins and the Men in Black
Here come in the Men in Black... and no we're not talking about Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, unfortunately. Get this- a hypnotist, a disappearing coin, and a strange looking man walk into a bar. What do you get? Why one of the most infamous tales of a "man in black" sighting of course! In 1976 Dr. Herbert Hopkins was working on a local UFO abduction case when he receives a night time call inquiring about his findings. What happened next has become what some call evidence to the existence of the men in black. Was this a true encounter with the extraterrestrial, or a made up story by a lonely man?
