Chips or fries? Somehow they’re both right and very wrong. It's a podcast where a Southern-born GRITS (Girl Raised In The South) and her British co-host unravel the absurd, endearing, and endlessly confusing quirks of US and UK culture—expect sass, mistranslations, and spirited arguments over everything from colour with a U to gravy on biscuits.

This week on Grits and a Brit, Chris and Jay grab the remote and dive into the wonderfully weird world of British and American television.
Why do some shows cross the Atlantic and get completely remade? From The Office to Steptoe and Son becoming Sanford and Son, Chris and Jay look at the TV shows that got an American makeover—and whether the originals should have been left well alone!
Then there’s censorship. British TV might casually show a naked bottom while America reaches for the panic button over a cigarette. How did the two countries end up with such different ideas about what’s acceptable on television?
And Jay attempts to explain one of Britain's greatest mysteries to Chris: the BBC TV licence. Yes, Britain has a licence for watching television. No, Chris isn't convinced.
Expect nostalgia, questionable TV memories, plenty of sarcasm, and the inevitable argument over which country actually makes the better telly.
