Evil Dead 2 Brings People Together and It's Still The Greatest Movie Ever Made!!!

That title says it all, I believe that Sam Rami's Evil Dead @ is the Greatest movie ever made. Sure that's just one podcasts opinion but We have a little help from some family this week to back up our case. Evil Dead II (1987) is a cult classic horror-comedy film directed by Sam Raimi. It serves as both a sequel to and a reimagining of the original The Evil Dead (1981). The film blends elements of horror, slapstick comedy, and over-the-top gore, creating a unique and highly influential style. The story follows Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell), who travels to a remote cabin in the woods with his girlfriend, Linda (Denise Bixler). There, they discover the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (the Book of the Dead) and a tape recording of incantations from the book. When the incantations are played, an evil force is unleashed, possessing Linda and eventually Ash himself. Ash must fight to survive as the demonic forces torment him. Later, the daughter of the cabin's archaeologist owner, Annie (Sarah Berry), arrives with a group of people, and they all become entangled in the battle against the Deadites (the possessed humans). The film culminates in a chaotic and surreal showdown. Cast List: - Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams - Sarah Berry as Annie Knowby - Dan Hicks as Jake - Kassie Wesley DePaiva (credited as Kassie DePaiva) as Bobby Joe - Ted Raimi as Possessed Henrietta (and the voice of the Evil Force) - Denise Bixler as Linda - Richard Domeier as Ed Getley - John Peakes as Professor Raymond Knowby (voice) - Lou Hancock as Henrietta Knowby Evil Dead II is celebrated for its inventive camera work, dark humor, and Bruce Campbell's iconic performance as Ash, who became a horror legend. The film has since spawned a franchise, including Army of Darkness, a TV series (*Ash vs. Evil Dead*), and numerous comic books and video games. Popstar: Never Stop Recommending this movie

As the Spiritual Successor e to last week's This is Spinal Tap, we have Andy Sandberg's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, which is a mockumentary comedy film directed by Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, and written by The Lonely Island trio: Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. The film follows the rise and fall of Connor4Real (played by Andy Samberg), a former boy band member turned solo pop star, as he navigates the highs and lows of fame. After his sophomore album flops, Connor's career spirals out of control, forcing him to confront his ego, his relationships, and his fading relevance. Along the way, he reconnects with his former bandmates, Owen (Jorma Taccone) and Lawrence (Akiva Schaffer), while dealing with the absurdities of the music industry. The film features cameos from real-life celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, and Ringo Starr, adding to its satirical take on pop culture. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its sharp satire of the music industry, clever humor, and Andy Samberg's charismatic performance. Critics highlighted the film's hilarious original songs (such as "Equal Rights" and "Finest Girl") as standout moments, blending absurdity with catchy tunes. However, some felt the mockumentary format was overly familiar and that the humor occasionally relied too heavily on its celebrity cameos. Overall, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping was celebrated as a witty and entertaining parody, particularly for fans of The Lonely Island's brand of comedy. —Main Cast: - Andy Samberg as Connor4Real (Connor Friel) – A former boy band member turned solo pop star. - Jorma Taccone as Owen Bouchard – Connor’s childhood friend, former bandmate, and now his DJ. - Akiva Schaffer as Lawrence Dunn – Connor’s former bandmate who left the music industry to become a farmer. - Sarah Silverman as Paula Klein – Connor’s publicist. - Tim Meadows as Harry Munk – Connor’s manager. - Joan Cusack as Fran Friel – Connor’s mother.
