I’m Sarah Tolson—an evidential medium, Reiki Master Teacher, and someone who still loves spreadsheets, structure, and practical thinking just as much as meaningful conversations about Spirit. I know what it’s like to question extraordinary experiences because that’s exactly where my own journey began. My spiritual awakening didn’t start because I was searching for enlightenment. It began during my young daughter’s cancer journey, when one unexpected experience after another challenged everything I believed about healing, intuition, and our connection to those we love. This podcast is the resource I wish I’d had during those early days. Each week, I’ll share the stories that transformed my own life—from Reiki sessions that changed everything, to the mediumship reading that broke my brain, to the first practice reading that made me wonder if I was losing my mind.    You Don't Have to Feel Everything: Setting Boundaries with Spirit

   Being sensitive to energy doesn’t mean you have to feel everything at full volume. In this episode of Grounded in Spirit, we’re talking about energetic boundaries—what they are, why they matter, and how they can help you feel more grounded and in control of your intuitive experiences. I’m sharing what happened when my mediumship abilities first began opening up and I found myself overwhelmed by physical sensations and emotions that didn’t seem to belong to me. We’ll also talk about setting boundaries during Spirit communication, asking Spirit to turn down uncomfortable sensations, and simple visualization techniques you can use when you want to stay in your own energy instead of absorbing what’s happening around you.    Grief Changed the Way I Understand Life and Death

   Grief has shaped the way I understand death—but maybe even more importantly, it has changed the way I understand being alive. In this deeply personal episode of Grounded in Spirit, I’m sharing my experiences with loss from childhood through adulthood, from losing my Papa at five years old to complicated grief after my mom’s unexpected death, and eventually facing an entirely different kind of grief when my eight-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. I’m also sharing how Reiki, meditation, and eventually mediumship began to challenge what I had always believed it meant for someone to be “gone.” I don’t claim to know exactly what happens when we die. But my experiences have changed what I believe about consciousness, our continued connection with the people we love, and whether our relationships truly end when someone’s physical life does.    What Happened Next — Learning to Trust Spirit

   What happens when you have an experience you can’t explain…and then it doesn’t stop? After giving my first mediumship reading, I wasn’t ready to call myself a medium. I wasn’t even sure I believed what had happened. But over the next several weeks, the experiences kept coming—and eventually, I realized I needed help understanding what was opening up. In this episode, I’m sharing what happened next: finding a mentor, learning how to work with my connection instead of feeling overwhelmed by it, and beginning the long process of trusting the information I was receiving.    The Day I Thought I Was Losing My Mind

    The Reading That Broke My Brain

    What happens when two complete strangers, using two completely different methods, tell you the exact same thing about your future? In this episode, I’m sharing the story of my very first mediumship reading—and the palm reading later that night that made the whole experience even harder for my logical brain to explain.
