[…] Long stems shooting above the grassland, topped in the fall with these large yellow flowers. It's a former viguiera. I said that, right? Yeah, but still a golden eye. Oh yeah, common name, heartleaf golden eye. Botanical name, aldama cordifolia. It's such a pretty addition to the grassland. It doesn't grow in stands. Just individual plants, three, four foot tall stems with these sort of heart-shaped, sort of heart-shaped leaves. Cordifolia, cordifolia means heart-shaped. I lost myself there, excuse me. Anyway, they're tight to the stem. I don't know if they're heart-shaped, but anyway, those leaves are tight to those stems. […]
