<p>Welcome to Episode 1 of “Who Am I?” A new Podcast series on the Growing With DiiRT YouTube channel. In this series I Antwone “DiiRT Da Dreamsaver” Johnson will be sparking well overdue conversations with my Back brothers and sisters about topics such as, Black history, Black culture, Black traditions, spirituality, slavery, black ancestors, and so much more. In the inaugural conversation of episode 1, I invited my brother the host of @Smallworldpodcast1 on to converse with me about why its important that we as Black Men and Women here in America learn our true history and timelines so that we can be gain the process and journey for us to find out who we truly are. Small World and I play a clip from Netflix’s Documentary “African Queens - Njinga.” In the scene Queen Njinga is approached by a messenger from the Roman Empire with the demands from the Pope on what it will take for them to end the war against her people. (I had to remove the segment due to copyright laws) The aim of the “Who Am I” conversations is to enlighten the Black man and woman of America of their ancestors beliefs, traditions, and journey. Our ancestors deserve to be remembered and honored and it’s nobody’s responsibility but our own to uncover the truth about who we once were so that we can do just that! I am genuinely seeking knowledge and understanding of my myself, my people, and my culture. This journey is very personal to me as I am desperately seeking to figure out Who Am I!
