15 - Success Amnesia: Why We Drift Away From Habits That Win
Chris came on in a funk he'd been sitting in for weeks — tension in his relationship, deals he wants to close and isn't closing, and a voice in his head asking why he'd even bother. What comes out is that both problems are the same problem: he's spent so long trying to think his way through it that he's stopped doing the one thing that actually gets him present. We get into the control he didn't know he was putting on his relationship, and the night he almost walked out over it. Then the business side: why real estate is a relationship business, not a desk job, and the event where showing up instead of hanging back got him two wins in one day. By the end he traces it all back to the discipline that worked for him once before, at 23 — and commits, on camera, to starting again by midnight. If you can name exactly what gets you out of a rut and still can't remember the last time you did it, this one's for you. 14 - The Hidden Price You Pay For Comfortable Friendships
You can describe the friends you want in detail. Most people have never once held the friends they actually have up against that description. This one's a live coaching session. Natalie came on to talk through a fallout in her friend group, expecting we'd work out how to handle it. Instead I asked her to name one friend who would actually show up for her. She couldn't. From there we get into the quiet deal running inside comfortable friendships: I'll let yours slide if you let mine slide, and nobody has to hear anything they don't want to hear. We talk about why most of us take the easy exit instead of having the conversation, why calling a friend out is the kinder thing to do, and the fear sitting underneath all of it. Not anger. Not loyalty. Being alone. It's the same fear that keeps people in jobs they hate and relationships they've outgrown. Friendships are just where it shows up last. If you've ever looked around your circle and quietly wondered whether these are actually your friends, this one's for you. 13 - Your Dating "Non-Negotiables" List Is Probably Wrong. Here's Why | Live Coaching Session
Live coaching, uncut. This week I brought someone on the show to coach in real time, no edits, no do-overs, just what live coaching actually looks like. Meet Öykü Saran (https://www.instagram.com/cheerswithoyku/), co-founder of Beyond, who came on with a list of 10+ "non-negotiables" for what she wants in a relationship. Problem is, most lists like this are full of words that sound important but don't actually mean anything specific. We challenged a few of the items on her list and dug into where that desire was actually coming from, with the goal of getting to the root of what she wanted so she'd have a better shot at finding it. Then we challenged her to apply that same approach to the rest of the list on her own. If you've ever written a list of what you want in a partner and it still didn't help you find them, this episode is for you. Öykü's homework: cut the list down to what's actually true by midnight. Stick around to see what she came back with. 12 - She Had a Colostomy Bag and Still Showed Up - What's Your Excuse? | Torey Wolford
What does gratitude really look like after emergency surgery, a misdiagnosis, and hitting rock bottom? Leadership coach Torey Wolford shares her story - and what kept her going. Torey Wolford is a leadership coach and trainer with 20+ years of experience who has coached over 10,000 leaders. Her mission is simple: liberate people from the limiting beliefs and fears that keep them from living in alignment with their deepest desires. In this episode we talk about what it actually looks like to choose empowerment when every circumstance is giving you permission to be a victim. Torey spent two years being misdiagnosed while her intestines were slowly being strangled and came out of emergency surgery weeping on her couch in gratitude. We also get into World Cup tickets, backpacking in the backcountry, and why the gym might make you strong but nature makes you hard. If you've ever had every reason to quit and chose not to, this one's for you. 11 - Are Americans Soft? A World-Class Acrobat Get's Honest | Ella Blue
Ella Blue isn't your typical guest. She's a Ukrainian National Champion acrobat who trained for years to perform a single three-minute routine. She toured with Cirque du Soleil. She spent years as a featured performer at Absinthe in Las Vegas: one of the most demanding live shows in the world. And when I asked her if Americans are too soft on their kids when it comes to training and discipline, she didn't hesitate. In this episode we get into what it actually takes to become world class at something, what it feels like to fail in front of a live audience, why the crowd reacts the way they do, and the mindset required to perform at the highest level night after night. We also talk about what happens when your identity is tied to your performance and how you rebuild when that chapter ends. Your ego is distorting how you see reality and it’s costing you relationships, opportunities, and growth. In this episode, we break down how ego shows up in dating, communication, and the way men and women misunderstand each other. From avoiding hard conversations to misreading what people are actually saying, this is about the hidden patterns that keep you stuck and what happens when you finally see them clearly. 09 - What a Stand-Up Comedian Knows About Handling Failure
What can a stand-up comedian teach us about failure, confidence, and the fear of being judged? In this episode of Growth Snacks, I sit down with comedian and actor Chinedu Unaka to talk about what happens when you put yourself out there, whether it's on stage, in business, or in life. Stand-up comedy might be one of the ultimate confidence tests, where failure happens in real time and in front of a room full of strangers. But what if learning to fail in public is actually the key to growth?Chinedu shares the story of his first time ever performing stand-up, how comedians deal with bombing on stage, and why awkward silence isn’t nearly as scary as most people think. We talk about the mindset that allows performers to keep going when things don’t land, why confidence isn’t the absence of fear, and how learning to handle rejection can change the way you approach challenges in your own life.Whether you're building a business, pursuing creative work, or simply trying to stop worrying about what people think, this conversation reveals powerful lessons about resilience, self-belief, and staying committed when the outcome is uncertain. You’ll also hear why Chinedu calls his career “the waiting room”, why creators have to get good in public, and why enjoying the chase might matter more than reaching the destination. If you’ve ever been afraid to try something because you might fail, this episode will challenge the way you think about fear, embarrassment, and what it really takes to grow.🕕 Chapters00:00 Cold Open01:30 Episode Intro03:33 Why Stand-Up Comedy Is the Ultimate Confidence Test05:03 Chinedu’s First Time Ever Performing Stand-Up07:44 Getting Good in Public14:39 Why Failure Isn’t Actually That Scary18:10 The Danger of Trying to Please the Audience24:04 Action Over Perfection31:45 The “Waiting Room” of Success33:41 Learning to Enjoy the Grind Listen to the Full Episodes:🎥 Subscribe on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@GrowthSnacks )🎧 Listen on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/07WMkOgk7YftShOwADIoab) 🍎 Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growth-snacks/id1868593316)Follow Growth Snacks: 📱 Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/growthsnacks) 🕺🏻 TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@growthsnacks.pod )👤 About ChineduChinedu Unaka is a stand-up comedian, actor, and producer whose work has appeared on major platforms including television and streaming. 08: Comfort Is Costing You More Than You Think | Krista Petty
Most people don’t fail because they lack talent or opportunity. They fail because they stay comfortable. In this episode, we unpack the psychology of the comfort zone, why playing it safe feels smart, and how waiting for confidence before making a decision quietly keeps you stuck. If you’ve been overthinking, avoiding risk, or telling yourself you’ll commit “when the timing is right,” this conversation challenges that mindset. We explore decision-making, self-belief, fear of failure, fear of judgment, and why most people never actually go all in on what they say they want. I’m joined by Krista Petty, a master trainer, former competitive athlete, and leader in the personal development space. Krista has spent years coaching people through identity shifts, career transitions, relationship tension, and life-altering decisions. Together, we talk about control vs surrender, answering your calling, and what it really costs to stay in your comfort zone. If you’re interested in personal growth, mindset, high performance, commitment, or becoming the version of yourself you know you’re capable of being, this episode is for you. 📱 Follow Growth Snacks: TikTok → https://www.tiktok.com/@growthsnacks.pod (https://www.tiktok.com/@growthsnacks.pod ) Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/growthsnacks (https://www.instagram.com/growthsnacks) 🎧 Listen to the Full Episodes: Spotify → https://open.spotify.com/show/07WMkOgk7YftShOwADIoab (https://open.spotify.com/show/07WMkOgk7YftShOwADIoab) Apple Podcasts → https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growth-snacks/id1868593316 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growth-snacks/id1868593316) 📬 Join the Growth Snacks Newsletter → http://substack.com/@growthsnacks (http://substack.com/@growthsnacks) 👤 Guest Info: Name → Krista Petty Learn more about Krista → https://www.boldlyembodylife.com/ (https://www.boldlyembodylife.com/)

Resilience is what keeps you going when nothing is working yet. It's the "never give up" mindset that so often leads to success. It's about more than putting in the hard work. The reality is that when progress is slow and the results aren’t showing up, most people quit. Not because they lack talent, but because they don’t know how to stay in it.In this conversation, we explore what resilience actually looks like in real life. Not motivation. Not hype. But the internal staying power that gets built when things are hard, uncertain, and uncomfortable. This episode is for anyone who:- Feels like they’re doing the work but not seeing results yet- Is questioning whether they should keep going or pivot- Wants to understand how resilient people think when quitting would be easier🕚 Chapters0:00 – Why Nothing Working Yet Makes Most People Quit0:55 – What Resilience Really Is (Not Motivation)2:18 – “I Don’t Know How to Quit”: Staying Power Explained4:52 – How Your Upbringing Shapes Resilience7:07 – Choosing Not to Live With a Victim Mindset8:29 – How Gratitude and Focus Change What You See11:56 – Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Believing You Belong📬 Join the Growth Snacks Newsletter → http://substack.com/@growthsnacksGet weekly mindset + entrepreneurship insights straight to your inbox. 📱 Follow Growth Snacks: TikTok → https://www.tiktok.com/@growthsnacks.pod Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/growthsnacks🎧 Listen to the Full Episodest: Spotify → https://open.spotify.com/show/07WMkOgk7YftShOwADIoabApple Podcasts → https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growth-snacks/id1868593316👤 Guest Info: Name → Dave Schatz Connect with Dave on X → https://x.com/daveschatzFollow Dave → https://www.instagram.com/daveschatz

Most entrepreneurs think they need to start a business to build wealth… but Kyle Robbins proves the opposite. In this episode of Growth Snacks, Kyle breaks down why he skipped buying a house and instead used SBA loans to acquire cash-flowing “boring businesses” - including an 8-figure furniture company - before ever buying a home. This is the exact path popularized by Codie Sanchez, Alex Hormozi, Nick Huber (Sweaty Startup), and other creators teaching acquisition entrepreneurship, cash-flow investing, and buying small local businesses instead of chasing risky startups. We go deep on the math behind buying a business vs. buying a house, why AI is destroying most startup ideas, and why “timeless industries” like furniture, construction, and home services are becoming one of the smartest investments of 2025.Kyle also shares how community, mentors, masterminds, and fatherhood reshaped the way he approaches wealth, identity, and long-term happiness.
