In Folge 49 von Grundsatz diskutieren Alexander Vesely-Frankl und Gudrun Kugler mit Gerhard Jelinek über die Bedeutung von Freiheit und Sinn in einer krisengeprägten Zeit. Ausgangspunkt ist die Logotherapie Viktor Frankls, die betont, dass Menschen auch unter schwierigen Bedingungen Verantwortung für ihre Haltung übernehmen können. Freiheit wird dabei nicht als bloße Unabhängigkeit verstanden, sondern als Aufgabe, sinnvoll zu handeln. Zum 80-jährigen Bestehen der Österreichischen Volkspartei wirft die 48. Folge des Podcasts Grundsatz einen zugleich historischen wie zukunftsgerichteten Blick auf die Partei. Moderator Gerhard Jelinek spricht mit den ehemaligen Parteiobleuten Michael Spindelegger, Josef Pröll, Wilhelm Molterer und Sebastian Kurz über die Gründung der ÖVP im April 1945 und die anhaltende Relevanz ihrer Gründungsprinzipien. Werte wie Freiheit, Solidarität, Leistung und Demokratie stehen dabei im Zentrum – damals wie heute als Fundament einer Politik der Mitte. Die vier Gesprächspartner zeigen auf, dass diese Grundsätze auch in einer Zeit globaler Umbrüche und gesellschaftlicher Herausforderungen nicht an Bedeutung verloren haben. Sie plädieren für eine Politik, die konsequent werteorientiert bleibt und zugleich offen für Erneuerung ist.
