《古文觀止》是清代以來最流行的古代散文選本之一，「古文」指文言散文，「觀止」一詞出於《左傳》，表示所看到的事物已經盡善盡美，無以復加，所以《古文觀止》解作歷代文言散文的最佳結集。主持陳耀南會透過古文的介紹，讓大家掌握中文的語言藝術，繼而了解中國的學術思想及社會變化。
