About H.O.P.E - Hang On Pain Ends

This podcast was originally started at the end of January 2026 ... after the sudden death of my Father ... then almost losing my mother 6 weeks later ... I decided I needed the first break of my lifetime, and I took a leave from my job .... and started a podcast. It started as a platform to share my story with Bipolar Disorder.... and then started turning into journal-style recordings of many experiences from my past, not only to do with my mental illness, but including so many other things with a lot of laughter and tears as I have been told my story-telling is beyond compare. Up until a few weeks ago, the podcast was going in one direction ... well, actually, numerous directions... but I thought I knew exactly where I was and where I would end up. Turns out.... after a bipolar depressive crash in early June .... I realized the entire podcast up until then ... was recorded in something called a "Quiet Hypomanic" episode of Bipolar Disorder. I was shocked, embarrassed, mortified ... and I almost deleted this entire thing, I could not even stomach the idea of listening back to even ONE episode .... But... Here I am. The dust has settled a bit .... I am not in that deep dark suicidal depression that I have spoken about many times in this podcast .... and I am not flying high with the angels and preparing the tour busses for the "Alana Michaels Stage Show Empire." Guess I have landed somewhere in-between. So.... I honestly don't know where my journey will take me .... I think it will be less exciting than the last 5 months of this podcast ... but I would love it if you would still come along for the ride?    Power of the Pause .... of the Podcast.

   "First it was a podcast ... then it was a Platform... and now it's more than I could have ever "H.O.P.E'd for." - Alana during her quiet hypomanic episode. The Day this episode will be posted almost ten months to the day that My Dad left this earth. And looking back on everything ... especially this podcast of H.O.P.E ... Dad has been with me every single step of this journey. And if you are reading this .... so have you. Thank you for listening to my rants and raves, my stories of laughter, tears, and heartbreak. And most of all ... thank you for listening. I hope my words over these past almost 9 months of recording has made some sort of difference.    H.O.P.E Will be In Full Bloom by 9/18/26.

   Once I woke up from this Fog I had been in for days ... since "the Final hour" had been recorded ... I had recently been reading my journals from the winter months ... during the quiet hypomanic episode ... and I kept reading the same line "HOPE will be in full bloom by September 18, 2026." I kept saying I had this "gut feeling" that that would be the case ... what that meant? I did not know... and even during this recording.. I did not know. But I knew today was a date that was going to mean something... so I know I needed to make sure I captured my own voice ... and I did.

   The Final Hour....

   This was recorded as I sat on my Dad's deck... overlooking the lake for one last time. This might be the first time in my life where I actually understood the feeling of "bittersweet." I have so many memories there with my Dad ... yet it was also heartbreaking after his death, to go there and be in the home that was ours together for so many years. Then it was even harder when it was up to me to clear out the entire existence of our time there. So this last night... as I sat and talked out loud to my Dad, to God, to the Sky ... to this home, I decided to record ... because the whole point of this podcast from the beginning is to capture my moments ... my experiences ... my story. So .... Dada - "Our chapter may be over ... but I will have the corner of the page folded down, because it will always be one of my favorites." I love you Dad ... bye for now. Love, Zib.
