When Everything Around You Is Shaking | God Is Still Your Refuge | Psalm 91
When Everything Around You Is Shaking | God Is Still Your Refuge | Psalm 91
What do you do when life changes in a way you never expected?
A phone call.
A relationship shift.
A financial setback.
A family crisis.
A loss.
A season where everything that once felt steady suddenly doesn’t.
In Episode 6 of Under His Wings, the final episode in our 6-part Half-A-Dime Podcast series through Psalm 91, we’re talking about what it means to trust God when life itself feels uncertain.
Psalm 91:2 says:
“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’”
Trust does not mean pretending something doesn’t hurt.
It doesn’t mean you never cry, question, grieve, or feel afraid.
Sometimes faith looks like saying:
“God, I don’t understand this, but I’m staying.”
In this episode, Corinne talks about how difficult seasons can shake more than our circumstances. They can shake our identity, our confidence, and the roles we thought defined us.
Divorce.
Retirement.
Estrangement.
Children leaving home.
Relationship changes.
Financial uncertainty.
Loss.
Getting older.
Unexpected transitions.
When those things happen, we can find ourselves asking:
Who am I now?
But roles change.
Circumstances change.
People change.
Your worth does not.
And God remains steady.
We’ll also talk about choosing a simple refuge phrase for the moments when fear rises:
“God is still steady.”
The situation may have changed.
God is still steady.
You may not know what happens next.
God is still steady.
You may feel afraid today.
God is still steady.
That is the heart of Psalm 91.
Not the promise of a life without difficulty.
But the promise of knowing where to dwell when difficulty comes.
Under His wings.
In His presence.
Within His care.
As we close this series, remember:
You don’t have to absorb the world’s noise.
You don’t have to solve tomorrow tonight.
You don’t have to carry everyone else’s chaos.
You don’t have to let fear build the boundaries of your life.
You don’t have to keep proving your worth.
And when everything around you is shaking, you still have a refuge.
Stay close to God. Protect your peace. Remember where your worth comes from. And take the next right step.

And that’s my five cents’ worth. ❤️

The Quiet Traps Stealing Your Peace | Comparison, People-Pleasing & Psalm 91
The Quiet Traps Stealing Your Peace | Comparison, People-Pleasing & Psalm 91
What if the things stealing your peace don’t look dangerous at all?
In Episode 5 of Under His Wings, our 6-part Half-A-Dime Podcast series through Psalm 91, we’re talking about the quiet traps that can slowly wear us down without us even realizing it.
Comparison.
People-pleasing.
Overcommitting.
Trying to prove yourself.
Constant productivity.
Saying yes when everything inside you wants to say no.
Psalm 91:3 says:
“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler…”
A snare is a hidden trap.
And some of the most powerful traps in modern life are the ones that look completely normal.
You scroll through social media and suddenly feel behind.
You say yes because you don’t want someone to be disappointed.
You work harder because somewhere deep inside, you still feel like you need to prove your worth.
In this episode, Corinne talks about how to recognize the moments when your peace begins to disappear, how comparison and people-pleasing can quietly become connected to your sense of worth, and why freedom often begins by noticing the trap before automatically stepping into it.
We’ll explore questions like:
What thought did I just agree with?
Whose approval am I trying to earn?
Am I doing this from peace—or from the need to prove myself?
Because another woman’s success does not make you less successful.
Someone else’s beauty does not make you less beautiful.
And someone’s disappointment does not automatically mean you’ve done something wrong.
Your worth was never meant to be determined by comparison, productivity, approval, or someone else’s opinion.
This week’s five-cent practice is simple:
Name one trap.
Notice it.
Pause when it appears.
And choose one different response.
Sometimes freedom doesn’t come through one dramatic breakthrough.
Sometimes freedom begins by recognizing the trap a little sooner each time.
Stay close to God. Protect your peace. Remember where your worth comes from. And take the next right step.

What If Fear Isn’t Protecting You Anymore? | Faith Over Fear & God’s Protection | Psalm 91
What If Fear Isn’t Protecting You Anymore? | Faith Over Fear & God’s Protection | Psalm 91
What if the thing you’ve been calling “being careful” is actually fear keeping you from moving forward?
In Episode 4 of Under His Wings, our 6-part Half-A-Dime Podcast series through Psalm 91, we’re talking about the sometimes blurry line between godly wisdom and fear.
Psalm 91:11–12 reminds us of God’s care and protection:
“For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”
Fear can be convincing. It tells us to wait, stay hidden, avoid the risk, keep quiet, or remain exactly where we are because at least there we know what to expect.
And sometimes caution really is wisdom.
But sometimes “I’m just being careful” is another way of saying:
I’m afraid.
In this episode, Corinne talks about how fear can quietly shrink our lives, how to recognize when caution has become a cage, and why trusting God doesn’t mean living recklessly—it means learning to move when He leads.
We’ll also explore the connection between fear and worth.
What if you fail? What if someone rejects you? What if you try and it doesn’t work?
Do any of those things actually change who you are in God?
This week’s five-cent practice is simple:
Identify one thing fear has been talking you out of and take one wise, prayerful step toward it.
Because God’s protection isn’t meant to become a cage.
It gives us the courage to walk where He leads.
Stay close to God. Protect your peace. Remember where your worth comes from. And take the next right step.
