Die Fotografin und Künstlerin Nicola Brandt hat mit ihrem Fotobuch The Distance Within ein bemerkenswertes Werk vorgelegt. Sie ist aufgewachsen als Tochter deutscher und britischer Vorfahren in Windhouk, der Hauptstadt Namibias. Als Jugendliche hat sie die Apartheid erlebt. Mit Anfang 20 begann sie diese Welt in Frage zu stellen. In ihrer Arbeit hat sie sich dem Thema deutsche Kolonialzeit in Namibia (1914-1918) gewidmet. Eine Schreckensherrschaft, die heute noch spürbaren Folgen für die Menschen in Namibia hat. Die Arbeiten zu dem Buch haben Nicola Brandt auch nach Hamburg geführt. Im MARKK Museum konnte sie im Archiv tief in die Geschichte eintauchen, und hat wichtige Dokumente´ans Licht geholt. Das Buch The Distance Within ist im Steidl Verlag in Göttingen erschienen.

Dieter Meier, Multi-Talent aus der Schweiz: Musiker (Yello), Künstler, Fotograf, Unternehmer. In den 80ern wurden Dieter Meier und Komponist Boris Blank als Duo Yello weltbekannt. Sie gelten vielen als Erfinder des Elektro-Pop. Von Boris Blank stammt die Musik, und Dieter Meier lieferte den Gesang, und die damals hochangesagten Videos.
