The Rapture Isn't Real

Revelation starts with John receiving a vision while he’s exiled on an island. Right away, it’s clear this is not just any message. It’s a revelation of Jesus, showing what’s happening now and what’s coming later.

In chapter 1, John sees Jesus in a powerful, glorified form. This is not the humble version people are used to. Jesus is described with blazing eyes, a voice like rushing waters, and standing among seven lampstands, which represent the churches. The message is clear. Jesus is alive, in control, and present with His people.

Chapters 2 and 3 shift into direct messages to seven specific churches. Each one gets a very personal evaluation. Some are doing well but need correction. Others are struggling or drifting. One of the biggest themes here is consistency. Stay faithful, don’t compromise, don’t grow cold. Jesus keeps repeating the same idea. Those who overcome will be rewarded. It’s encouragement and warning at the same time.

Then everything shifts in chapter 4. John is taken into a vision of heaven. The focus moves away from earth and onto God’s throne. Everything in this scene is about worship and authority. God is at the center, surrounded by beings constantly declaring His holiness. It sets the tone. No matter what happens next, God is still on the throne.

Chapter 5 builds on that. There is a scroll that no one can open, which creates tension because it represents God’s plan moving forward. No one is worthy to open it until Jesus appears, described as a Lamb that was slain. This is huge. Jesus is the only one worthy to carry out God’s plan because of His sacrifice. The whole scene erupts into worship focused on Him.

Then chapter 6 is where things start to unfold. The seals on the scroll begin to open, and each one releases something onto the earth. The first four seals bring the famous four horsemen, representing conquest, war, famine, and death. It shows things starting to unravel on a global scale.

The fifth seal shifts the focus to people who have been killed for their faith. They cry out for justice, asking how long until God sets things right. The sixth seal brings massive disturbances in the world. Earthquakes, the sky going dark, people hiding in fear. Everyone realizes something bigger is happening, and they are not ready for it.

So the first six chapters move from introduction, to personal warnings, to a heavenly perspective, and then into the beginning of judgment. The big thread through all of it is this. Jesus is in control, God’s plan is unfolding, and people are being called to stay faithful no matter what comes next.
