We often use might as well when one action is easy to add because we've already done something similar. Imagine your spouse says, I'm making some coffee. You could say, well, if you're making coffee, you might as well make one for me too. Since the coffee is already being made, adding that one more cup doesn't seem like much extra effort. Or maybe your co-worker says, listen, I'm going to the post office after lunch. You could say, well, if you're going there, you might as well take this letter for me. […]
