Happy Place

About Happy Place

Welcome to the Happy Place podcast, where we’re going to discover the essence of lasting satisfaction in life. I'm your host, Rina, and, together, we'll explore the elusive concept of happiness. Professionally I’m known as a shibari artist, tantric bodyworker, former professional Domme, extreme sports athlete - I call myself a Vulnerability guide - I create safe spaces for healing, self-discovery and spiritual explorations. I first encountered the term Happy Place while pursuing freediving. Freedivers find peace amidst the ocean's immense pressure by envisioning a tranquil sanctuary. By incorporating our Happy Place into our everyday lives, we too can celebrate the gift of being alive. What is your happy place? Is it an internal state, a product of external circumstances, or a delicate balance of both? Let’s challenge the status quo and venture beyond the conventional understanding of happiness. Join me and my guests as we uncover the secrets behind courageously embracing our search for lasting happiness to create extraordinary lives full of experiences and explorations to be proud of! This is a journey through spirituality, extreme sports, BDSM, and psychedelics, uncovering paths to true happiness. Get ready to be inspired and transformed as we unravel the mysteries of the Happy Place.

Ep. 76 Beyond Yes and No: The Grey Areas of Consent

In this deep conversation with Tah Whitty, a former emergency room nurse of 25+ years turned coach and facilitator, we explore the nuanced realities of consent beyond simple “yes” and “no.” Together, we unpack the hidden dynamics of expectations, disappointment, people-pleasing, and the roles of victim, rescuer, and villain that often shape intimate interactions. This episode invites a more mature, accountable, and compassionate understanding of consent - especially in the complex spaces of intimacy, healing, and transformation. Ep. 75 Shibari Isn’t the Healer - You Are

Shibari isn’t therapy. And it isn’t magic. But when held with presence, intention, and emotional intelligence, it can become a powerful doorway into self-awareness and transformation. In this conversation with shibari artist and somatic intimacy guide Kati Bird, we explore the intersection of shibari, healing, and emotional attunement. We talk about: • why technique alone is not enough • what most people misunderstand about healing • the role of trauma awareness and emotional intelligence • and why the most powerful tools often come from outside the rope This is a conversation about responsibility, curiosity, and the courage to feel. Meet Kati Bird A Shibari Goddess, Spiritual Seeker, and Healer who creates safe spaces where the body and soul can communicate. Kati is fueled by questions of what lays below the surface of the everyday human interactions, cultivating depth and meaning, discovering levels of intimacy and play, finding internal and external freedom in the world, and empowering others on the journey of healing and transcendence. https://www.shibariunravelled.com/about-kati (https://www.shibariunravelled.com/about-kati) https://www.instagram.com/becoming_unravelled/ (https://www.instagram.com/becoming_unravelled/) Rina is a shibari artist, tantric bodyworker, former Dominatrix, and extreme sports athlete, learner of ancient traditions and intrepid explorer of consciousness. Ep. 74 Golden Shadow: The Power You’ve Disowned

We often talk about shadow as something dark - anger, jealousy, shame, the parts of us that feel too messy or socially unacceptable to show. But there is also another kind of shadow that rarely gets the same attention, and that’s the qualities we admire in others to the point of putting them on pedestal, secretly envying them, or feeling like we’re somehow not quite enough to ever become that. In this episode I’m speaking about the golden shadow - the brilliance, confidence, creativity, erotic power, or leadership we’ve disowned in ourselves and projected onto mentors, lovers, teachers, or public figures, and how easy it becomes to feel worthy simply by being near them instead of allowing ourselves to become that big. Who do you admire a little too much, and what part of you is afraid to take up that same space? If this resonates, feel free to share it with someone who might need permission to stop shrinking. Rina is a shibari artist, tantric bodyworker, former Dominatrix, and extreme sports athlete, learner of ancient traditions and intrepid explorer of consciousness. She guides people to their core, creating safe spaces for healing and self-discovery.
