It's been a while. Welcome Back, everyone. This episode has been something I've wanted to speak on for a while now. I signed up for an Ironman back in January 2019 and after getting my training programme through i didn't really know where to start in terms of how to tie all of the training sessions together and handle the load and duration of these sessions. I fell into a great podcast from Rich Roll and Chris Hauth talking about the benefits of training in zone 2. I had no idea about this type of training method. Essentially it's going slower to get faster in the long run. Check out the podcast. Mind Technique Fitness, this is something derived from my training in Zone 2. I talk about the ability to control my mind through my patience whilst training and getting used to correct techniques and performing better and getting fitter in the process. My recovery and ability to training 7 days a week. Back to back double sessions with high loads is something I only attribute to developing a good base fitness and training my mind to handle the load of training sessions and demand. Welcome back to another Episode people. When was the last time you set yourself a challenge??? Are we coming out of our comfort zones enough? Do we coast in life without really pushing our capabilities? This Episode I sat down with Josh Howell and we spoke about the incredible challenge of becoming an Ironman 70.3 and Ironman Finisher. For those who are unaware of what an Ironman is, it consists of a 2.4Mile swim, 112Mile Cycle and a 26.2 Mile Marathon. A heck of an achievement to complete these challenges and all on a Vegan Lifestyle. Josh wanted to prove you can not only live a Compassionate Vegan lifestyle but also still compete in some of the toughest challenges in the world. According to Quora in 2015 on Average around 0.01% of the world's population has finished an Ironman (without repeats) I had a really interesting conversation with Josh getting to know about his Lifestyle and upcoming challenges he sets himself. This is a bit of a mash-up style podcast with myself, Charmaine, Bradley and Vanessa speaking before the event on particular things we feel contribute to the negative and positive effects we feel regarding our personal body image and perceptions.
