Harry Potter í Breiðholti

In this episode, unusually in English for the most part, we explore how Harry Potter has been taught in other colleges besides Versló. In Breiðholt College, Iveta Licha has taught an elective course with a Harry Potter theme five times, and has the next run scheduled for next term. Iveta has been a Harry Potter fan for nearly 20 years and fell in love with the first HP book before the first movie came out! She is a proud Slytherin and aims to break down the stereotypes :) She lived in England and Scotland before moving to Iceland. She teaches “normal” English as well as Harry Potter and other fantasy in Fjölbrautaskólinn í Breiðholti. In her free time she likes to read books, play board games, play & listen to Irish-Scottish folk music, go hiking, camping and snowboarding.

Kvistbolti - Quidditch á Íslandi

Þessi þáttur fjallar um eina hlið Harry Potter menningarinnar, en það er þróun íþróttarinnar Quidditch, sem hefur hlotið íslenska heitið Kvistbolti. Ég tala við Breka Bragason. Breki, sem flokkast í Ravenclaw, er stofnmeðlimur í kvistboltaliðinu Reykjavík Ragnarök. Hann spilar þar sem markavörður og var í stjórn liðsins 2019-2020, en er nú búsettur í Þýskalandi þar sem hann starfar sem sjálfboðaliði. Ragnarök hefur keppt erlendis, bæði sem félags- og landslið! Kvistbolti hefur, eins og aðrar íþróttir, legið í láginni á tímum veirunnar, en um leið og birtir til með það bendi ég hlustendum eindregið á að kynna sér betur þessa spennandi íþrótt!

Þræðir andans - lokabardaginn

Í lokaþættinum   fjöllum við um tengsl heims Harry Potters við heim fornra trúarsagna og   goðsagna, einkum þó úr Biblíunni, bæði gamla og nýja testamentinu. Viðmælandi   þáttarins er Jón Ásgeir Sigurvinsson sem tilheyrir Ravenclaw. Jón Ásgeir tók   nýlega við embætti sem héraðsprestur í Reykjavík. Hann er doktor í   gamlatestamentisfræðum frá Háskóla Íslands og bakar alveg sérdeilis gott   súrdeigsbrauð. Inngangsstef þáttarins er úr laginu Niturdrep af Aðalfundinum   en lokastefið er úr Prinsessan á Mars.
