<p>Join the Harvard Varsity Club and Friends of Harvard Tennis for a conversation with Dr. Jim Loehr, Lorenzo Beltrame P'17, and Paul Wylie ’90 on how you can translate the lessons learned and skills developed through sport into success in your life beyond the playing fields. <br> <br> <p>Dr. Loehr, Lorenzo, and Paul have built their friendship over many years of working with one another, including their time together at the Johnson &amp; Johnson Human Performance Institute helping individuals and companies maximize energy and improve wellbeing - fueling higher performance and inspiring purposeful living. Their work with professional athletes, military Special Forces, and Fortune 500 CEOs has proven that when you bring your best energy to work and life, you can accomplish remarkable things. <br> <br> <p>This conversation will be moderated by Andrew Rueb '95, The Scott Mead '77 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Tennis. <br> <br> <p><strong>Dr. Jim Loehr:</strong> Co-founder of the Johnson &amp; Johnson Human Performance Institute, which helped train and inspire more than 250,000 business, sports, medicine, and military leaders worldwide. Dr. Loehr is a world-renowned performance psychologist, researcher, and author of 17 books including his most recent, Leading With Character, and the national bestseller The Power of Full Engagement. Dr. Loehr holds a masters and doctorate in psychology and is a full member of the American Psychological Association. <br> <br> <p><strong>Lorenzo Beltrame P'17: </strong>Founder of LB Performance Solutions and director of mental performance for the Italian Tennis Federation. The former director of the LGE Performance System/Human Performance Institute tennis program, Lorenzo has personally trained dozens of professional and collegiate athletes, including 9 players who reached the #1 ranking in the world. His current and former clients include Jim Courier, Pete Sampras, and several varsity teams at Harvard. Lorenzo has studied and applied Dr. Loehr’s renowned mental training system to a variety of sports for nearly two decades, and has been responsible for the development and delivery of the Mental Toughness Certification Program for coaches at the Johnson &amp; Johnson Human Performance Institute. <br> <br> <p><strong>Paul Wylie ’90:</strong> As director of the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center, Paul is helping to improve winter sports programs at all Olympic venues. He draws from his vast experiences as a professional athlete, as a business executive, and as a former performance coach at the Johnson &amp; Johnson Human Performance Institute. He has twice represented the United States in the Olympic games, first in 1988 where he finished 10th and again in 1992, earning a silver medal in men’s figure skating. Paul competed in 11 U.S. National Figure Skating championships and finished in the top 5 on 10 occasions. In addition to his athletic achievements, Paul earned both his undergraduate degree and MBA at Harvard and has held roles in marketing and brand management for Fortune 100 companies including The Walt Disney Company.</p>
